dont put any points into beast mastery. just let your pet tag along while you kill stuff
u dont want it to kill much
wurm farming is a great way to lvl pet and so are alliance battles

yeah jsut bring it along with any build and no points into beastmastery. you HAVE to do more damage then it and it has to die alot. a great way to lvl it hearty is to just let it die (only bring charm animal) and just go about w/e your doing it will lvl while its dead (got my polor bear from lvl15 to lvl20 in one uw clear)

I'm not sure you understand what the designations for pets mean. Hearty is basically increased health and decreased damage. Dire is increased damage and decreased death. If you want Dire, head down to the death leveling thread. Otherwise, follows Artemis' advice, just bring the pet on your bar wherever you go, and if you want to specifically level him, HM Junundu farming is probably your best bet, as it is easy to rack up the xp and a sure way to get Hearty. Hope this helps .

Normal play almost always results in a hearty pet.

Even if you use a normal BM build and put points in beastmastery.

Actually it doesn't need to die once to get hearty. Deaths don't seem to make a difference, it's all about damage dealt vs you and damage taken. If you deal >> damage than pet and it takes 1 pt of damage it'll evolve to hearty. Since the pet's damage relies heavily on the # of points you spend into Beastmastery of you set leave is at 0 (as suggested above) it pretty much guarantees hearty. The basic idea is you go kill stuff, let the pet attack or not, res it if it dies (so it can die some more) and voila.

Its the easier evolution to get actually. Just bring it with you when you kill stuff. (I speak from experience, got my Melandrus Stalker from lvl 12 to lvl 20 just by doing missions).

Hearty = just let it sit there while you do the work.
Elder = have it kill stuff.
